Profile
Detlef Rethage
Mr. Rethage has served from 2005 to July 2018 as President of Nitto Avecia Inc, a leading Boston-based drug development services company for oligonucleotide based therapeutics. At Avecia, he spearheaded a successful turnaround and divestiture from Private Equity firms Cinven / Invest Corp to Nitto Denko.
Prior to Avecia, Mr. Rethage was the Executive Vice President Operations at Ricerca Biosciences, a drug discovery and development services company backed by SG Capital Partners.
From 1998 to 2002, Mr Rethage worked in for Degussa Corp. (today Evonik) as Vice President and General Manager of the Fine Chemicals Business based in New Jersey. During that tenure, Mr. Rethage was also responsible for merging and integrating four businesses units into Fine Chemicals Division.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Rethage held positions in the Specialty Chemical Industry in Germany and Italy in Business Development, M&A and Corporate Development
